Jubbaland Non-State Actors Association abbreviated as JUNSAA is a voluntary nonprofit and nongovernmental platform formed with the aim of promoting the current situation of people of Jubbaland through improvement of human rights situation, social services, Representation, Protection, Advocacy, good governance through policy influence. Jubbaland Non-State Actors Association – JUNSAA was established on 12thApril, 2017 by a group of Somali intellectuals, social experts, and human rights activists. JUNSAA is nonprofit making, nonpolitical and nonsectarian. The aim behind the founding of this platform was to focus on the devastating problems faced by non-state actors inside their country especially severe conditions related to human rights violations and social development setback that has be fallen the country as a result of the civil war. Founders of JUNSAA felt that something must be done very quickly to safeguard and restore the lost dignity and social life wellbeing of the Somali people. One of the mishaps that the Somalis face in their country is grave human rights violation at the hands of their fellow Somali citizens. The most vulnerable groups are women, children and the minority groups. Women fall victim to rape and other abuses, while children are exploited as child soldiers and minority groups are deprived of their rights to live freely without fear as citizens.
