
On 18th and 19th April 2026, the Jubaland Non-State Actors Association (JUNSAA) organized the Civil Society Strategic Planning & Human Rights Advocacy Forum in Kismayo, Jubaland, Somalia, in partnership with UNTMIS and the United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner. The forum brought together civil society leaders, human rights advocates, and community stakeholders to discuss key issues affecting communities across Jubaland.
The event focused on strengthening civil society strategic planning, promoting human rights advocacy, and improving cooperation among non-state actors and other stakeholders. It provided an important platform for participants to exchange ideas, share experiences, and identify practical ways to advance justice, inclusion, peace, and accountability in the region.
Through this forum, JUNSAA reaffirmed its commitment to empowering civil society, strengthening advocacy efforts, and promoting the protection of human rights in Jubaland. JUNSAA also appreciates the support and partnership of UNTMIS and the United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner in making this important event successful.
